FRAGUA CINE is a film production company devoted to creative exploration of reality.
Founded in Mexico in 2005 by Juan Manuel Sepúlveda, Fragua develops and produces projects that range between documentation and fiction triggering new experiences of the sensible that incite us to question the state of the world.
Through a participative and interdisciplinary praxis, Fragua is always open to coproducing projects and collaborating with creators who are passionate about expanding the limits of audiovisual arts.
With a solid record in production, nationally and internationally, its films have been screened and received awards at festivals such as the Berlinale, Cinema du Réel, Cannes, Morelia and Visions du Réel, among others.
Juan Manuel Sepúlveda has directed, produced and photographed films since 2004. He is a graduate of the National School of Film Arts of the UNAM (previously CUEC) and has a Master’s in Fine Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
His work is intended as a critical and unconventional exploration of the documentary form, while he has developed a practice as a Professor at the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, and at the National School of Film Arts of the UNAM.
He is a member of the National System of Art Creators (Mexico) and his work has been shown in Festivals, Seminars and Retrospectives around the world.
